whose Mom is a play therapist, and Pearl's friend carries a doll
with her everywhere she goes. Pearl's mom is a writer, and perhaps
that's why Pearl brings such enthusiasm to keeping her journal.
Every day she sits as her table and "writes," with no pressure or
bribery from us whatsoever. She makes marks on lots of pages each
day. I love the wild, craggy beach, the cold wind, the bleakness
before sunset. We're approaching b-day for the new baby. She says
she got that from her mother.
Love is... My mother called this morning to check up on the
Fart Family -- that is one of the things I hold dear in this life,

-- and she asked how Miss Leta was doing. Jon said the other day
that he can't wait for you to witness one of her fits." My mother
